Open University DVD has sound on Panasonic DVD player but not on my PC. Good vision in both cases. What to do?

Tried Google for advice but no free fix's there.

Surely there must be a simple solution?

Have made sure volume controls on Windows Media Player, desktop and in Accessories are all on at 75% and not muted.

Help please!Open University DVD has sound on Panasonic DVD player but not on my PC. Good vision in both cases. What to do?
If it works on DVD player then the problem is your PC. Have you tried another DVD or CD to see if that plays sound. Have you checked the obvious, like has the speaker cable accidentally come out? If other CD's play sound then sound card and connections are OK. Try some different software VLC Media Player is a FREE open source multimedia player. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ that works well.

If all else fails get your eldest son to come round and fix it.Open University DVD has sound on Panasonic DVD player but not on my PC. Good vision in both cases. What to do?
Hmm, maybe check to see if the audio cable from the DVD player is plugged into the CDIN on the sound card (or motherboard if using onboard sound).

That, or you need the proper software to play the DVD such as Cyberlink PowerDVD.
