Why is it illegal to ask on a job application if you have had workmens comp cases...?

Why is it illegal to ask on a job application if you have had workmens comp cases, but then its ok for them to get a background check and see the workmens comp cases??


This is for OHIO.Why is it illegal to ask on a job application if you have had workmens comp cases...?
My Guess is because it would be considered a medical case and you don't need to inform companies about your medical backround.Why is it illegal to ask on a job application if you have had workmens comp cases...?
Are you sure that workman's comp cases show up on standard criminal backgroung checks? If it is, then it sounds like a loophole which should be closed.
The only way that would be on a background check would be if you were involved in a fraudulent workers comp case.
I think you got your wires crossed......if your applying for a truck-driving job, that questions on there.........
